ABOUT

PHOEBE

Hello beautiful beings! I’m Phoebe and here’s where you’ll find out a little bit more about me, my journey to Aussie life and how I fell in loooove with makeup artistry.

Having always taken an interest in drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, it came as no surprise when I took up face painting as a creative outlet when I was 16. Surrounded by colourful paints, glitter and brushes, I was in my element. Having spent many hours practicing on any willing friends and family, it wasn’t long before I knew this was something I wanted to pursue as a career. Spending weekends covered in paint and working long hours decorating faces, I was able to save up enough money to go traveling.

Arriving in Aus as a converse-wearing, curious, solo backpacker from England, I set about exploring this beautiful country. Having grown up in Cornwall – albeit surrounded by beaches – Australia immediately felt like home. While in Brisbane, I met my partner Dean who made my decision to stay even easier and the rest, as they say, is history.

After settling into life on the other side of the world, I decided to take my passion for face painting and turn it into a business. Immediately, I loved it! From here, I then went on to study makeup at the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Makeup (where I now work as an educator!) and this is when I really honed in on my skills and expertise. I had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most influential makeup artists in Brisbane, specializing in fashion, editorial, bridal, commercial and film. I was able to explore all areas and even worked on productions such as Nautilus, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Boy Swallows Universe - pretty sick right?! A whirlwind year of study later, I graduated in 2022 and even took home the ‘Student of the Year’ award.

Following on from graduation, I have continued to run my makeup artistry business and I now specialize in bridal, editorial and creative makeup. I’m always striving to better my abilities and I’ve recently completed Chad Atkinson’s Advanced Prosthetics Workshop too - you can find evidence of this on my Instagram, the 'Slaaaylien' is amongst my favourite looks of my career and really helped me delve into my love of character work too.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the beach with my two doggos, cheersing vodka spritzers at golden hour or crying/singing along with a musical or rom com. Overall, I’m really excited to continue my makeup journey and meet some exceptional clients along the way. Whether it’s just an initial consultation you’re after or you want to make sure you’re booking the right hype girl to apply your wedding day makeup, I’d be more than happy to chat through your ideas and most importantly, get to know you so I can bring your makeup dreams to life.
